Seit meiner Ausbildung als Computergrafikerin an der Parsons School of Design School and School of Visual Arts in New York, der praktischen Weiterbildung in Los Angeles und Wien, arbeite ich als Textkünstlerin im Bereich der bildenden Kunst und Computergrafik. Aufgrund der jahrelangen Entwicklung einer von beiden Seiten lesbaren Schrift, den DUPLIKATENZEN (Ausstellungen in Wien, London, Kopenhagen, New York/Guggenheim) und der aufwendigen Arbeit an dem beidseitig lesbaren Buch „Kunst ist am Ende – Ende nie ist Kunst“ entstand ein eigenes, unverwechselbares Schriftbild. Meine beschrifteten Objekte, Foto- und Videoinstallationen betonen die Vieldeutigkeit von Worten und ihre Wandelbarkeit mit der jeweiligen Umgebung. Dieser Umgang mit Schrift und dessen Spiegelung sind auch der Ausgangspunkt meiner FLYING CARPETS, deren Muster aus Worten kreiert sind. Ein Perserteppich der anderen Art, der Gedanken an jeden Ort der Welt fliegen lässt.
In meiner Lyrik (Preisträgerin des Lyrikwettbewerbs der „Nationalbibliothek des deutschsprachigen Gedichts“, dem 6. Platz beim Kärntner Lyrikpreis 2010″) meinen Theaterproduktionen (Regie, Text, Video u.a. mit Tanja Witzmann /Auf Grund) lasse ich der freien Deutung mehr als den üblichen Spielraum. Vermehrt fließen in jüngerer Zeit Collagen, Illustrationen und grafische Typografien in meine Arbeiten ein. Die aktuellste Arbeit integriert eine arabisch, persisch anmutende Schrift, die in ihrer Spiegelung erst lesbar wird.
Die Erweiterung meiner Lesungen mit Visuals führt zu einer Zusammenarbeit mit Art Visuals & Poetry (Trakl remixed, Literaturhaus Salzburg 2012, Trakl Remixed, Wien, das Werk, 2012) und damit zu ihrem Poesiefilmdebüt GLEICH/EVEN erstmals gezeigt im Museum am Bach, Austria 2014) und beim „International Film Poetry Festival“ 2014 in Athens. 2021 wurde mir das Kultur-Ehrenzeichens der Stadt Villach in Silber verliehen.

I love to work with unusual imagery and combine them with text. The image tells a story, the words do too, and together it´s yet another story. It´s a work against prejudice at first sight. In everything I do you find double meanings, in every painting, in my poems, in my computer art and very obviously in the textproject duplicatences, which is a worldwide new form of art text that can be read from either side. With this special typeface you can even change the language within one word. From German to English, to Spanish, to French and so on. My partner poeter c. siegl and I have been working on this project from 1996 to 2000. My biggest intention is to encourage people into looking more closely, to pay more attention, and so to find out that THERE ARE EVEN MORE THAN TWO WAYS OF SEEING ONE COLOR, ONE FACE, ONE WORD…ONE WORLD.
